Following my retirement from The Royal Ballet in 2016 I created my own company, Acosta Danza, to harness and develop the young creative dance talent emerging from Cuba.

The ethos of the Company is to produce dancers who can use Cuba’s rich musical and dance influences to effortlessly combine both classical and contemporary genres creating repertory that is exciting, distinctive and pushes conventional boundaries, resulting in a unique, Cuban-infused experience for all concerned.

In addition to dancing under the direction of world-renowned choreographers, the Company encourages its own members to create and direct original works involving complex routines. These have already been enthusiastically received by audiences and critics alike both nationally and internationally.

The Company performed for the first time at the Gran Teatro de la Habana Alicia Alonso in Cuba in April 2016 and has since performed worldwide to great critical acclaim.
