Choreographed in 1928 by a young George Balanchine, who achieved international recognition at the age of 24 with his story of the Greek God. Set to music by Stravinsky, Apollo is visited by three muses - Terpsichore, muse of dance and song - Polyhymnia, muse of mime - and Calliope, muse of poetry.
